Food Blurb 2: The sweetest snack

More commonly referred to as sweet potatoes, Yams have a special place in my heart. They come in all shapes, sizes, and even different colors!! Who knew?? Orange, white, and purple, they are all so pretty and most importantly, nutritious and tasty! In my opinion the most underrated veggie out there. They have SO MANY uses in salads, as sides, mashed, fried, even in pancakes. One use stands out more than any, my favorite... TOAST. You're probably thinking um that makes no sense, but it’s actually so simple and easy. Yams make a fabulous carb substitute if you are many trying to stay away from bread, or an easy nutritious snack if you are getting bored of those healthy, boring daily snack. Eating good doesn't have to be bland and boring, especially if yams have anything to do with it! The best part is that it is so easy, and only 4 steps! Try it yourself and let me know how much you love it!!
1) Slice the sweet potato into long pieces (fairly big sweet potato recommended)
2) Wrap the slices in a wet paper towel and microwave for 2 min
3) Throw the slices in the toaster
4) Top it off!! Pb and banana for a sweet treat, avocado w salt and pepper for a simple snack, the possibilities are endless!!
