“That’s life kid, deal with it”. Life, described as a series of unfortunate events that you must push through in order to get to success, or the end. When do we reach “real life?” When things become most difficult? When we are faced with challenges or tragedies? Life is the greatest gift anyone could ever ask for, and we are so incredibly lucky to have it every single day. Without life, there is no you, no fun, no ups and downs, places to see, people to meet, no life to live and enjoy. Why do we put life down so harshly? Because it comes with challenges? The creator of Life: The Game probably understands life unlike anyone because it is almost just that, a game. We are a piece, a small part of a huge game, and of course there will be obstacles, but that is just part of the challenge. Although it is similar to a game, I don’t think it can truly be mastered or beaten like a video game, however it can be enjoyed, every step of the way, because wherever your piece goes, you make the decision to move it there. We grow up with the concept that “life sucks”, when something unfortunate happens, an adult will commonly say “welcome to the real world” or “that’s life”. Truthfully, that is not life, just parts of life that make us better, and if the “real world” is nothing but a series of discouraging events then count me out. It doesn’t have to be this way.
Life is so amazing, it is the coolest thing anyone could ever experience. We are born to be whoever we want, it is the greatest challenge we ever face, it is one long Super Bowl game with no halftime show, unless you want one, then have at it. My point is, stop listening to the constant negativity surrounding life, and enjoy it. Every moment you live is not going to be all happiness and pleasure, but these times are just small speed bumps that slow you down to make sure you are going where you truly see fit. So what is “life?” Well, that is up to you and know one else. It’s your one opportunity to shine, succeed, fail, enjoy, and conquer. Don’t settle into the trap of “the real world” because there is no such thing, it is your world, your life, when times are tough remember it is nothing but a small speed bump, it may take some time to get over but if you want to, you will. Create your own happiness in this life. This life is the most amazing thing that has ever happened to you, be grateful for that. Move your piece around, explore the big board game of life, there’s plenty of room for you, it just takes some passion and strive and you will undoubtedly conquer this unique game we have the gift of living through.
